Well, I'm not new, but as Cayenne pointed out, it's nice to have some of the
experienced members chime in too. Plus, it's been quite a while since we've
done anything like this, and the list has been awfully quiet lately.

I've been tablet weaving seriously for about 14 years, although I learned a few
years before that, and I also do pretty much anything you can come up with to
do to turn string into fabric of some sort. I'm especially interested in Viking and
medieval textiles, but do some other stuff as well.

Recent projects:
- recently finished garters in doubleface with little pottery motifs (plate, bowl, pitcher, cup),
in exchange for a set of pottery (pics coming soon). Much fun - they're really cute. :)

- working on a pair of linen belts, solid color, in the Anglo-Saxon technique where you turn
alternate cards and idle the rest. It makes a nice surface texture, and a very solid
and sturdy belt. (I'll take pics too, as soon as I put the buckle on.)

- getting ready to start another linen belt, this time blue and white patterned. I'm still
wavering between 3/1 twill and Hochdorf pebble weave. Either way, there will be
alternate pattern segments with geometric motifs in blue on white, and plain blue with
metal leaves rivetted on.

There's lots more stuff on my web page - www.stringpage.com - but those are the
newest projects.

I'm happy to teach and answer questions, but I'm very busy and don't always get to
things very quickly...
