Provenance: probably Anglo-Saxon England / Insular or continental Insular influence; ?Persian (Flanagan) I don't know if this means that the trim was made in Persia and used in England, but that's what it sounds like to me.   No, it is just Flanagan who says that the band may be of Persian origin.  He's been proven wrong as per all the other references.  Again, the motifs are probably from that part of the world.   Nancy
