Greetings,

I'm not sure about finding those particular crochet cottons on cones, but there are lots of different weights of cotton threads commonly purchased on cones that you might want to investigate. My personal favorite weight among cotton threads is 10/2 mercerized cotton, mainly because 20/2 thread takes so much longer to weave up. (It certainly feels like more than twice as long!)

I'm leaning more toward working with linen, at the moment, and am still recovering from using wool as the tablet-woven selvedge on the 40 feet of fabric I wove for the baronial cloaks. The selvedges are as strong as I was hoping, but it did slow down the weaving process considerably.

Hi there. I'm a new tablet weaver, utterly and completely obsessed with this
stuff. Thanks to all who have put out so much info on the web.

I started doing this using cotton carpet warp, progressing to perle cotton
and now Opera and Cebelia 10 and 20 crochet cottons, which look amazing,
though the color range is limited. Fortunately, I have a lot of experience
in dyeing, and am raring to to on that. BTW, does anyone have a source for
Cebelia or Opera on cones?

Just checking before I send any other mail, as, since I joined the list at
the end of June, I haven't received any digests.

Ellen
