Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques

While it may not be exactly what you need for this project, you could check
weaver's supplies. My local handweaving shop carries a lot of different
weights of cotton...as well as oodles of other goodies.

Quoting Anne Rock <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

I've seen a DMC wholesale catalog (for the US) fairly recently, and Cebelia was not available on cones. It's possible it is in other countries. (One can purchase DMC floss on cones, although the last time I calculated cost, it wasn't a savings over the skeins on sale, and I'm not sure if very many colors are available; it offered me the opportunity to dye floss colors of my choice.)

Another brand of crochet cotton is Flora, available in sizes 10 and 20, with some 50 also -- it does have the tightest twist of these three lines. Many yummy colors, at least for my taste. Available from Handy Hands Tatting or Lacis. It may be available in white on cones; ask Handy Hands and if you ever decide to order some, let me know!
