If I may just point out one little point that may help brocade weavers ... so-called "through brocade" is almost never used when you are using one brocade weft, even when you are using a metallic brocade weft. However, you must use "through brocade" when using two or more brocade wefts. Any brocade weft not active on the surface floats on the back; this keeps the band from distorting lengthwise. With one brocade weft, it runs through the main shed with the ground weft. Again, thank you, Michael, for providing a good on-line article on the subject. Nancy
