Reality is always more complicated than one expects :) For example in inland Okavango Delta: "The flood peaks between June and August, during Botswana’s dry winter months" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okavango_Delta#Floods <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okavango_Delta#Floods> So there are some parts of it that are ephemeral=dry_season I would expect ephemeral=dry_season also in irrigation channels with flow controlled by humans to balance natural seasons.
