It is niche and not very important information but at least give some reason before you propose mass reverts. This information is both not feasible to automatically derive from other tags and geometries and it is actually used (probably just by me, but still it is used). This information is also verifiable, has clear meaning and is notĀ causing problems, as far as I know.
