Graeme, I hear you, "we" hear you, but as things get "stitched together," (maybe it's "early days," maybe some redundancy wrinkles haven't yet fully gotten ironed out), I'm OK with things tipping towards a bit of "over-communication" rather than "under-."
I think you know what I mean. We build several "layers" of community in OSM, sometimes communications aren't perfect and there is a bit of redundancy. (This can and does happen in "early days"). The wrinkles do get "ironed out" and improved as time goes on.
