Great! Let's count how many attendants we have so far. We haven't advertized the idea broadly yet. I just threw the idea among 7 attendants of online meeting of the OSM Russian Board. 3 of us expressed a desire to come to Estonia: 1) vvoovv (that's me) 2) Zverik 3) Zkir
A quik survey among both participants of the Russian forum from Estonia revealed that: 4) SviMik is likely to attend the conference: http://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?pid=327393#p327393 Vitalts is not sure yet: http://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?pid=327416#p327416 5) We've got Margus (Martino) from the talk-ee so far 5 attendants so far. Not bad for the beginning! No we need to decide: Tallinn or Tartu as the host city for the SOTM Baltic? Zverik votes for Tartu. I'd also prefer Tartu. Zkir didn't express any preference, he would be simply happy to come to Estonia after visiting it 20 years ago the last time. I have an impression that Tartu is the GIS-center of Estonia since such companies as Nutiteq and Regio are located in Tartu. Margus, is Tartu ok for you as the host city? Time for the SOTM Baltic: I suggest a weekend in July. The exact dates to be decided. We need enough time for planning and preparation. Also it is important to have enough time for some participants from Russia to apply for Estonian visa. Event format: very unformal (it's more like UNconference than an academic conference): normal talks, lighting talks, "podium discussions", social event in a pub in the evening. Participation in the event is free of charge. Looking forward to your feedback Vladimir Elistratov aka vvoovv On Thu, Apr 11, 2013 at 10:54 PM, Margus Värton <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > > sounds like a very good idea.
