It's a really interesting question - well, it is for those of us  
interested in such things.

For example, you are at liberty to take a photo of a shop with a  
Coca-Cola billboard out front, and to license the photo as CC-BY-SA.  
There are probably oodles of such pictures on Flickr.

It doesn't mean the Coca-Cola logo has to be released as CC-BY-SA. But  
I admit I couldn't point you to the relevant bit of law that explains  
that. (I don't _think_ it's as simple as saying "it's a trademark, not  
a copyrighted design".)

(In reality, of course, TfL would let caution rule and say "piss off",  
though probably translated into legalese.)
