While I tweeted a couple of days ago that the shape of our house is wrong on Streetview, I do want to A) trace the simplified rectangles a street at a time. B) use walking papers to add the house numbers. I see this as probably quicker and even with simplified shapes better results than me stopping by every house and adding a custom text waypoint with text of house number (osmmapper), as I canwrite while walking rather than stopping for hopefully best possible GPS fix.
I wouldn't locally want building outlines locally for streets I haven't got lined up to house number by foot, as it would make keeping track of progress harder. Tools to automate tracing while being manually aware of what is already there and the flaws in the automation is so much better than trying to import and screwing up what's already there, duplicating stuff and adding poor quality automation flaws.
