Thanks Tim,
that's a good point about the one-way ways for all the roads it meets,
and the opposite bike path. So maybe it shouldn't be needed, but...
Checking on OSM.org, Valhalla gets it right by going round Queen Square
(which is what I'd do); GraphHopper finds a longer route which looks
wrong on the standard layer but is right (there's a oneway:bicycles=no),
and OSRM makes the same dodgy right turn as Komoot.
It doesn't feel like a bad idea to map the turn restriction explicitly,
especially as the wiki for turn restrictions explicitly suggests OSRM as
a test case
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Relation:restriction#Edge_cases so
I've had a go. Interestingly if I manually create the relation with the
cycle path in the "from" role, it appears on the sidebar map, but edits
made using that map cause the relation to disappear
Of course I've flagged it with Komoot as well.
Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris,
You could manually create relations using the ID editor, but since the
junction is mapped using one way only paths, I'm not sure turn
restrictions are necessary?
Some of the routing algorithms on OSM website respect the one way
system as a cyclist, some don't.

I came across this when riding through Bath yesterday (following a
route
generated by Komoot, so I knew it was based on OSM data). Coming
along
the bike path at the bottom (S end) of Queen's Parade

you have to turn left. The markings are visible on imagery and the
traffic makes cheating hard.
So I though I'd check for turn restriction relations. I haven't done
many of these before, but they should be easy. If I click on the
node
where the bike path meets Queen Square, I get the option to "Click to
select a FROM segment" in the sidebar - but there's no bike path
shown,
only the roads.
So how do I create a turn restriction starting on a highway=cyclepath?
Chris
