In theory email replies do get processed but it's not the most
reliable of mechanisms and I don't think it gets used much so we
often don't notice if it breaks.

In my case, I've neither received an email notification to my BT inbox
nor a message in the messages section of the site itself. It could be
a sending error at their end.

site? While we can never guarantee email delivery it's not
possible for it to be in the sender's outbox on the web site and
not it the receiver's inbox because there is actually only one
copy of the message in the database that appears in both places so
unless you deleted the message it will appear if it was sent. Tom
