Hi, County boundaries (admin_level = 6) have been tagged as boundary = historic in Northern Ireland, which can be problematic.
It seems that only two local councils (formed circa 2015; admin_level = 7) are mapped (Fermanagh & Omagh District Council; and Newry, Mourne & Down District Council). It should be possible to determine the other boundaries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_government_in_Northern_Ireland The Royal Mail postcode database is useful, but it creates odd-looking (but correct) journey planner results. Anne-Karoline Distel did certain boundary-related mapping. There is the PlacenamesNI project placenamesni.org in QUB, but I think they lost their funding. Frances Kane should be able to answer certain things. I have a lot of experience with the NTA journey planner, which uses similar data if that is of any interest. If you wish, you can share my details with your contact. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. Margaret Mead _______________________________________________ Talk-ie mailing list [email protected] https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ie
