Also at one time, there was talk of how to declare imagery as outdated for a given area. There's the problem of detecting when new aerials become available and automatically using them instead of the outdated designation.

Someone here had gone through many reversions where the outdated aerial was showing a roundabout which had since been converted to a traffic light. They had a perfect example where one of the editors showed "Not a roundabout" over the aerial in large letters at that intersection.
