Why not? They'll be in the history same as they are now.
I thought the OSMF was going to delete all tainted contributions from
the history. Otherwise they can't exactly license the complete database
under the ODbL. (Yes, there are current examples of tainting, but
they're pretty negligible compared to the current situation.)

It's not clear, but http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Open_Data_License/Backup_Plan seems to indicate that it won't be a normal reversible delete/revert, but that any ungood versions will be entirely removed from the database ("hidden/deleted").
