The map style I use mostly on Web maps shows sidewalk=both/left/right/separate, the Garmin maps I use also show that. I haven't been to Graz for 30 years so my recollection of it is unlikely to be useful, but I bet there are plenty of local mappers who might be interested in a Maproulette/Streetcomplete challenge or similar, provided that they can see that their efforts are in a good cause.
