Can you give me a quick vb example of how you format the columns of the file once it is created? I assume you're using an Excel object? I'm just creating a simple comma delimited text file and didn't want to use an Excel object if I didn't have to.

I frequently use VBA to update CSV imports to correct column formatting. So your first example would be formatted as 0000000000. Date you would select the "mm/dd/yyyy" format, etc. Hope this helps. For example 4409354237 will display as 4.41E+09 and 05/02/1999 will display as 5/2/1999. Occasionally long values will display as ########. When using Datastation it uses the displayed value instead of the raw value. I thought that putting quotes around each value in the file would force it to treat everything as text but no luck. I can do a workaround but I am hopeful that there is an Excel setting that I can use instead.
