Thom,

This may be a good question for you. I have a script
that just stopped working last week. I tried everything and it works
perfectly every time I run it manually. It is scheduled to run every
morning at 5:30 AM. It fires correctly, but the script doesn't appear
to be going through the steps. I saw this one other time about a month
ago and I just moved that script to a different box and it works fine
there. Now I'm seeing it on another script. Here's the log file from a
good run...

countdown.

5/3/2014 5:41:34 AM Watchdog stopped.

5/3/2014 5:42:49 AM Sent Print Job:7 to ECMNRSP007

5/3/2014 5:44:25 AM Excel running, launching WatchDog on 8 min
countdown.

5/3/2014 5:44:26 AM Watchdog stopped.

5/3/2014 5:45:42 AM Sent Print Job:8 to ECM1WM1

5/3/2014 5:46:47 AM (Ran for: 1004.849 seconds)

Here's what I get now...

5/6/2014 5:30:01 AM (Started): AdultGraphicSheetECM []

5/6/2014 5:30:09 AM (Ran for: 7.457 seconds)

I have an error routine on every step and it's not hitting the error
routine. It's like it fires and immediately bails out.

Thank you,

Scott Beck

Hi,

While I don't have a suggestion to your actual question.

It is very important, when running our software on any Windows Server
OS, make sure it is set up to favor foreground Programs.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff458358.aspx

Otherwise the performance of "user" applications in general will be sub
optimal. Our software is basically a power user so you want to give us
the best possible user experience so we can do our job!

Regards,

Thom

Subject: [talkbws] How are you connecting to BWS servers?

Hi everyone,

I've been using BWS for 6+ years and I have 8 boxes. I
recently migrated to Server 2008 (64 bit) machines and have been using
Tight VNC to remote into each box. I've noticed the remote connection
is now lagging and over the past month some scripts just don't run
anymore. Scripts that should take 20 mins to run are now showing as 7
seconds in the log file and they aren't hitting the error routine.

Anyone else have any issues on Server 2008 or can
suggest another "remote" software to use?

Thank you,

Scott Beck
