Windows 8.1 is the latest version of windows available to day. Windows 10
is not out yet. 9 was skiped. I would urge you to get windows 8.1. then if
you want to make some thing look different to reduce the learning curve or
you just like it better I would recommend the following apps. Classic
shell. This will give you a more classic like interface. It will also
allow you to tweak the start menu in many ways that you can not under
windows 7 xp or 8.1.

Old new explorer. This allows you to turn off the ribbon in windows
explorer move the command bar put a status bar on the screen and a number of
other cool things. If you do these things you will be able to have the
start screen a start menu designed to your liking and a windows explorer
with what ever interface you like and the advantages of the new copy paste
dialogs. You will also be able to run windows 8 apps soon to be universal
apps. Windows 8 is more stable faster a lot easyer to deal with if there
is a problem for example you can refresh the operating system with out
having to reinstall it the refresh does work with speech. System restore
has never let me down yet either. I would go for windows 8.

Subject: which version of windows should I get

Hi Gang,

I am currently using windows 7 64 bit, but my computer is about to fail on
me and I am going to get a new one. I'm familiar with windows 7 64 bit but
don't even know if it's available any more on a new computer. My question
is, of the versions of windows available today, 8, 9, and 10, is there one
of them that works best with windoweyes? I have the latest version of
wineyes. Thanks for any input.
Thanks.
