Ray, I got stung on this one a while back and was told this is a Microsoft bug that they will fix with the next major release, whatever that means. This appeared to be a problem with all screen readers as far as I was able to determine. While I don't do envelopes much any more, the principle of this one bothers me. We're twenty years into accessibility and there are still problems making text accessible? This also seems to affect the signatures in Outlook 2013 as well.
Besides typing carefully, there are two ways you can check this. You can select the address you want to print from, for example, the inside address of a letter and it will be put into the envelope address field. Also, there is an option to include the envelope within the document. I don't remember what that option is called, but by doing that you can look at it after the fact to see if it looks right. I haven't tried it, but I think all of the envelope parameters get stored in the document as well, so one could probably even make changes and then print the envelope by printing the current page. I know that used to work but have not tried it with 2013.
