And, if you've already ripped a CD, Windows Media Player will inform you
that this disk has already been ripped to your library would you like to
overwrite it?

There, you'll find free files of my arrangements and performances played on

The albums in Technics format formerly on my website are still
available upon request. Thanks for listening!

If one goes into the options menu in Windows Media player and checks the
"Rip Automatically" checkbox on the
"ripping tab", the CD will be ripped automatically when one puts it in. One
can tell Windows Media Player to eject
automatically when it is finished. You can listen to the CD while it is
ripping or you don't have to. This works
nicely when you are ripping a lot of CD's.
If you don't want to rip CD's automatically, make sure the "Rip
Automatically" box is not checked. Then when you
put in a CD, Windows Media Player should be on the "Now Playing" screen. If
it is not on that screen, Pressing
Control 3 should bring you there. If you tab around that window, you should
find a "Rip" button which you can
activate by pressing SPACE.
I do not doubt that there might be easier ways to rip a CD, but this really
works pretty well and one doesn't have
to download anything new or worry whether you are getting anything you don't
know you are getting. I really wish
that if people say "my way works better" that they would take a minute to
tell us why. We all think our way works
better or we would do it another way. <smile>
Best regards,
Steve Jacobson

I totally agree. I love ITunes, bigtime, but honestly, I really don't
want to put the batch of CD's which I need to rip into my library.
So, yeah, if someone can guide both of us step by step, I am with
David entirely. I'd love to know. I did it once, and as tech savvy as
I am, I'm quite confident that I probably could figure it out on my
own again, but if you all could give some pointers, it would help.
Chris.

Hi all, I have repped many CD's with Windows Media Player but it must
be a year since I did the last one and I have forgotten what to do.
Can someone give me a step by step reminder please?
Dave Mawson.
