Hi Larry,

What you are looking for is under apps, progress indicator. In the options setting, you can change how much or what you want to hear. You mayy choose from the tones or a spoken percentage or both, or you may choose to turn the progress off for all programs or for individual programs. It is also possible to report the percentage, i.e., 5%, 10%, 25%, etc. It is quite versatile.

Hello listers,

The subject line poses the question. I am trying to find a way to stop the clanging sound for downloading or saving a file in IE. The sound has a way of waking my dear wife, and she really doesn't appreciate it, and I really can't blame her. I have looked all over the control panel, and also the manual and can find no reference to the matter.

Please help, my marriage may be endangered,

Larry
