No Kevin, the voice identified itself as such. I could even use the windows key-enter key to turn it off. It did go away after I had a chance to reboot.

Thanks,

Larry

Hi:
Are you sure thatit was Narrator that came up? I am guessing that
what you heard was another Window-eyes voice, probably Microsoft Anna.
What happens when the UAC comes up, it uses your login profile,
meaning that it uses the voice that you hear when you first log in.
In my case, that is Microsoft Anna, the same voice that Narrator uses,
at least in the Windows 7 operating system.

Listers,

This is a bit of a puzzler. For some reason completely unknown to me,
Narrator has started coming up when I run a particular program where a
UAC dialog box pops up asking my permission to run the program, or is it
to ask for permission to make changes to my computer? Yeah, that's it.
Anyway, this is a recent development, as in this afternoon. Any ideas as
to how this might have happened, or even better, how to stop it?
Your help would really be appreciated.

thanks,

Larry
