Sounds good in theory but if Firefox is anything like Thunderbird from
the same stable, checking or unchecking boxes has no affect. I have
tried everything I can think of to stop TBird updateing from 31.7 to
38.1 but nothing stops it. Well, that is on my system anyway.

recommended but will allow you to check it.
