Hi Dave,

Yes ... if you Google this you'll see it's quite a well-known scam. They'll
try to give you instructions which eventually gives them access to your pc.

I don't know of anything which works to cause them to stop; I usually tell
them I am reporting their number to the authorities immediately, in hopes
they will strike my number off their lists they circulate.

do any here receive calls from various people that tell you they are from
Windows Technical Support? they usually have foreign accents, and want
to tell you they have discovered some malware on your system. they then
tell you they can help you remove it.

Now, I know these guys are just Scamming me, and want me to do something
stupid, and then they will charge me $300 to $500 to fix the problem.

I once thought it was something that would trigger and be sent to them
when I started up my computer, but I have noticed they will call even
when my system is not running.

they know my name, but often do not know what edition of MS Windows I
have. I have thrown them off by telling them I don't own a Windows
machine, but an Apple.

they just hang up.

Does anyone here know of these guys, and is there something I can remove
that will get them to stop calling me?
