When starting up Word, you may have to press F6 a few times to get into the
correct pane. If you use Insert-Tab to get a list of particular items of
interest, it can take several seconds to generate the list and several more
seconds when you switch to a different type of object to list.
If you have to use ctrl-alt-W to restart Window-Eyes, sometimes it helps to
move focus away from the problem program to a less-active program. Try
Windows-M before ctrl-Alt-W and see what happens. Also note that it can take
several seconds for the restart process to happen. If you only have 2 GB of
RAM, you will run into a lot of these systems. 4 GB is plenty, in my
experience.

Veronica Smith asks:
Unfortunately, WE just goes out to lunch while I am in a word doc as well.
It truly frustrates me.
Dear Veronica,
It frustrates a whole lot of us Window-Eyes users. And it has frustrated us
for a very long time.
Some how GW Micro can't seem to correct the problem. At least now we can
easily get the voice back by typing ctrl alt W.
