This has happened to me one time. I thought my computer was possessed or something. I had to reboot to clear up the problem. Rick

This is an interesting note since I found some problems related to the mouse

After tweaking some settings the problem has gone away but it indicates that
WindowEyes does things behind the scenes with the mouse pointer and in my
case may have been causing problems with reading and, or, focus.

Hi Tom:

The app was an attempt to fors the mouse pointer to follow the cursor.
I am in the process of taking it off the App Central page because it
may corrupt Window-eyes and I don't want people to run into trouble
becausre they downloaded and installed that app.

I'm not familiar with this app. But is it doing something that setting
Mouse, Other, Track mouse with focus, doesn't?

That was poor phrasing perhaps on my part ... no one tried to do anything
malicious.

I see Kevin is doing something which should be legitimate: he's modifying
the second action of each hotkey, so that after it does whatever you
wanted ... it then moves the mouse pointer.

There's something about setting these settings in WE 9.2 which is causing
WE some difficulty.

Since it's happening to you, would you mind contacting the author (Kevin)
of this app to let him know about this problem? Perhaps even add a
comment (using app central) so other users know not to try this?

Thanks,

Chip

Ok, thanks, I'll go have a look at it ... this just normally should not
be
possible for an app to do without deliberate malicious programming
designed to remove your settings, so I'm curious to see what it's doing.

Thanks,

it is the make mouse follow cursor app. it corrupts w e every time i
press
the
hot keys windos-alt t. as soon as i do this and open the w e control
panel\cursors\keys or options screens all the settings will be gone. as
soon as
i reload w e it sends a error report every time.
if i don't press the app hot keys w e will contintuecontinue to work with
no
errors.
i disabled all other apps except the gw tool kit.
with the same results.

I don't think either app actually caused the corruption you found, but, I
did
want to mention that I and others have found that Window Maximizer from
Jamal
Mazrui can cause problems with some programs, when it tries to maximize
certain
windows which are not meant to be resized (and then you find that you
cannot
use that program).

There's an alternative from GW called Window Manager; but you do have to
specify each window it should maximize; but this is exactly what makes it
much
safer to use. You have to learn a little bit about how you specify the
windows
it should maximize; sometimes you can do it by title when the title never
changes, but with other programs such as Notepad where the title is
always
different, you have to try combinations of window class and sometimes
class
and title.

i don't know if any of this was the cause. but today i installed the
window
maximizer and the make pointer follow cursor packages.
about i used w e 9.2 for about an hour w e crashed and i got a send
error
report, which i did send.
after i reloaded w e text would not speak or anything. the search boxes
for
firefox, ie, no text would speak in notepad etc.
i found out all the settings for cursor were changed. they all said
control e
undefined 95
luckily i backup my c drive regularly once per week and was able to copy
back
the default folder and all is working again.
time will tell though. i re installed the two apps above to see if w e
9.2
becomes corrupted again.
especially the window maximizer. it does keep the wlm composition windows
maximized and w e no longer stops talking with wlm 2012 and windows 10. i
hope
this app is not what caused the corruption. it works great with wlm.
