Alas! The battle is over. Thanks for all the help. Egg on my face again. Amazon customer service and Microsoft Accessibility were very nice but couldn’t help.I did a clean reinstallation of Window-Eyes 9.2 from the CD. The Kindle app works now. I wonder if a Window-Eyes app was causing this or if there was a problem with my previous installation. Anyway, problem solved.
