Well, I just got my microphone replaced on my Dell Inspiron, and the guy came to my home and did it in about 45 minutes. True, I was on the phone for about an hour and a half a couple days before that, but that was because the technician, who knew what he was doing, was trying various things remotely before determining that someone needed to be sent out. So overall, it wasn't nearly the hassle I feared it would be, and I would certainly buy a Dell again, although not for a while I hope, as my laptop is only 19 months old. And then there's the fact that with PC and laptop sales declining, some people will doubtless get out of the business before I need to get another one, including Dell. They've indicated with their merger of EMC that they're moving away from their original PC business.

I hated dealing with Dell's technical support. Now, when I went to replace
my computer, the guy who took me shopping told me that Dell is now way on
the bottom of the list of what gets suggested, and that a lot of stores
stopped carrying them, and that they are supposedly being investigated by
tha Attorney General or something. I wasn't going to get one anyway, but
that sort-of cemented things. Pam.

Actually I have the satellite pro which wer previously the business class
models. I have the 15.6 model . the only keyboard arrangement that is
weird are the delete, home end an page up an page down which are place up
in the right hand corner instead of being aligned where they should be
on a regular full sized keyboard besides that everything is in its normal
place as I expect with a numeric keyboard as on board as a full size
keybord with big keys on them. That's what I like about the Toshiba laptops.
