well, MSFT has indicated that WIN7 will be supported until at least
sometime in 2020.
I wouldn't worry too much about WIN7 going away until they first
officially discontinue dropping support for VVista.
And, while official support hyas vanished for xp, there are still millions
of pcs out there that are happily running each day with XP and even older
operating systems.
The way to force people to migrate to "the latest and greatest" operating
system is when 3rd parties stop providing software that folks want to use
on an older system.
MSFT has done this, to some degree, by not providing IE to work with XP
and Vista; and newer WE9s stop at Vista.
That's how you get people to move up; so, right now, Win7 has at least 4
life yrs left (if not more) and the marketplace will ultimately determine
when a operating system goes away.
Just look at how long official support continued for XP though MSFT wanted
to kill it.
And by the time support for Win7 goes away, who knows what improvements a
newer operating system might have.

Oh, give thanks to the Lord!  Call upon His name; make known His
deeds among the peoples! - Psalm 105:1
