John,

I've been using Malware bytes pro for years. I re-installed it a month or so ago after doing a clean install of Windows 10. I had no problem with entering my ID and key.

All I can tell you is that I just opened it, Shift-Tabbed up to the Dashboard radio button, and then arrowed right until I landed on the My account checkbox, which was checked.

Then I tabbed down to the change license button and activated it. The key field was a standard edit box and then there was a button for if I also had an ID. Of course I didn't want to go through it but it all worked like a standard dialog.

Hth,
Tom

Thanks Bill.

Do you use the free or pro version?

It is the pro version I have problems with.
I cannot insert both the id and the key in order to activate it.

I have got nowhere with the software suppliers, although they have tried to
help.

As they have no record of the issue I describe above, then I have assumed it
is to do with Window-Eyes preventing something.

Regards, John

Hi John,

I use the latest version of Malwarebytes. Once you learn its quirks, it is
pretty much as accessible as the old version.

Thank you.

Yes, I know. I use Microsoft Security Essentials.

And remember Malware bytes is not an anti-virus, so you need another
package if you just use that.

Hello Bill,

Which version of Malwarebytes do you use?

I had found that the latest versions did not read successfully with
Window-Eyes and so am currently using an old version which is more
accessible.

I used Vipre for a while until I found out that it had some big problems.
After hearing that is was not reliable, I removed it and ran Malwarebytes
which found twenty some serious issues. Vipre had been telling me that
everything was fine.

If you're still running XP, I recommend Bit Defender. I have always found
Microsoft Security Essentials to be friendly and to work well with Vista
and
Windows 7 and I now use Windows Defender with Windows 10. I have had no
virus problems, since I don't take chances and don't browse risky web
sites.
