I find Windows D is a lot less reliable than windows m since upgrading to, I think it was, WE 9.1.

Then I restart Window-eyes and it works quite a bit better. This may not work for everybody, but it does for me. Also, sometimes window-eyes gets in a state when you go to the desktop, the arrow keys don't seem to work any more, the above steps work again.
