Hi Paulette:

The Amazon Echo, based on what I've read about it, uses wireless
connectivity to access the Internet. Does your router not support wireless
connectivity? If it does, you'll need to install a wireless access point
card on your computer for the Echo to work as advertised.

If it is working with your iPhone, it is connecting using WI-FI. I don't
know whether your computer comes with WI-FI built-in; the latest crop of
laptop computers in particular come with WI-FI already built-in, the service
just needs to be turned on.

Sincerely,
Olusegun
Denver, Colorado
