Not true!!!! Here is how it works. You need wifi for the echo to talk
to your router. Only wifi computer or device you need is to tell
windows seven to connect to the echo which shows up under wireless
devices it sees. Once it establishes connection, that goes away and the
echo is on your network just like any wifi device. The computer, once
this is done, does not have to be wifi. When I first plugged my echo
in, I used a laptop with wifi and it showed up as amazon ssomething. I
told it to connect, and that was all I had to do. It is not that
complicated.
