Are you sure Darrell? Even though I'm not exactly happy about this, I wouldn't say it is a monopoly. We must just make sure that colleges, universities and governments know there are alternatives such as SA, Baum Cobra, Dolphin screenreader and NVDA. The problem will be if the company or screenreader becomes totally dominant in the open market and puts others out of business, but until then, is this really antitrust? Of course, I'm not in the US or know your laws, but they will argue there is enough competition as far as what I can see. Won't trade commission be waste of time for whatever objective you want? Maybe they must just merge and we see if there might be interesting new products, although I think large companies, if there is only one, innovation could become slower. We maybe all upset or worked up now, but when the dust settles, at least it isn't a giant with no alternative for those of us who want alternative. The only thing scaring me is, I hope Microsoft will then not just work with this company and will work with the other screenreaders and we don't end up with monopoly mega.
