As long as there are other screen readers available, especially free ones, it's difficult to imagine one has a case.

About the swallowing whole of Aye Squared/GWMicro; it is so sad that I can
barely think about it. I am beginning to think that no matter what we spout
in public, blind people are slowed being screwed on many fronts. Have any of
you guys tried to buy a stove lately? Finding one that is totally accessible
is impossible. And now the competition between companies that say they want
to sell to the blindness market and keep their needs in mind has been
compromised yet again. Being blind these days is becoming harder rather than
easier, no matter how you slice it.

I am not one, but also funny for the users of magnifiers. I mean, Zoomtext
and Magic both big names, now will innovation become less because only one
magnifier? We still have small companies competing, brave NVDA, Dolphin
and
System Access. I wonder if any other hardware will come out to challenge
Hims and Humanware, since Pac Mate was dead failure.

virtually all schools, businesses use jaws. not window eyes.
when all the dust settles jaws will be the only screen reader choice.
you will pay there price or do without.
it won't be profitable for one company to support two screen readers.
look at what many companies have done. they usually look for companies
that are in trouble, buy them out for pennies on the dollar. then put
them out of business. to aquire there buildings and land.

Well now, remember guys this is assistive tech. Lack of cash flow will
make big deals look interesting. Obviously GW Micro/AI Squared
couldn't get things done on their own. I hope this won't ruin the
quality of the products. Remember, folks, free alternatives are out
there, and

they aren't half bad either. Choices, folks, choices...

Why are they jumping in Bed with the enemy?

Well, they may not be jumping in bed But as with so many things
these days, it may have something to do with money. usually lack of
it.

Wonder if Window Eyes owners will be given a chance to upgrade to
Jaws, without having to pay full price.

I was sorry to see GW Micro get bought by A I Squared, and now if A I
Squared has been absorbed, this might become very interesting,
Interesting in a not so good way.

I have never been impressed with the quality of JAWS or their Tech
Support.

Guess we will all see in time.
