Here's what I don't understand, why is the first message I reply to
maximized?
When I used WLM with windows 7, I never had to do this?

aisquared asked you if the window was maximized a few days ago.
i wish wlm windows would stay maximized.
but they don't. but with me this hasn't stopped me from composeing
messages.
try one of these apps.
window maximizer. one thing you may not like is it maximizes every program
window you open.
this could be a problem with firefox if it is maximized. if it is the pull
down
menus will not open until you restore it with the f11 key
it does have settings to block the action for programs but you would have to
do
this for every program you run.
i haven't tried this one so i don't know how it works.
hotwind.

Thanks to you, I just figured out what the problem is while composing a
message. I just pressed alt
space bar to open the restore menu and maximized the window and it works.

i don't think you are talking about the same thing.
when i have wlm and firefox or i e running at the same time and alt tab
between
them many times there is no w e focus on the main screen. but if i press alt
space bar to open the restore menu, press enter to restore, alt tab away and
back again to maximize the screen focus will come back. without haveing to
reload w e.

I checked association in the WE control pannel and the correct file is
associated.

Hi Russ,
Okay, in that case, when you open the second message, open the WE control
panel and check if the same set file is associated as had been for the
window when the first message was open.
I'm trying to figure out if, somehow, either the message windows are
different or WE is not picking up the correct set file.
Usually, even simply opening the WE control panel can jog WE to open the
correct set file.
If not, then perhaps the set file associated with the first message window
needs to be manually associated to the second message window.
Hth,
Rod

I exit the first message and return to the message list.

Hi Russ,
How precisely do you open up the second or next message?
Do you delete the current and then the second opens automatically?
Try exiting back to the message list and then open another and see if the
problem occurs.
Hth,
Rod

Well, I use Outlook, and it exhibits very similar behavior. The cure, for
me at least, is just to alt-tab away from the message I'm working on and
alt-tab back, and the problem is gone. Annoying, but easily fixed. Try it
and see if it works for you.

Here's the problem I now have with windows live mail on this new computer.
When replying to my first message after starting we, it works as it should.
Here is where the problem starts. When I go to reply to my second message,
I can't use the arrow keys to review what I typed. The back space won't
speak when I back space. When I check to see what set file is loaded, It's
wineyes.set.
On the first message, It's WindowsLiveMail.set.
