Hi Russ, I don't think the window stays maximized, and perhaps you can check its maximized state by opening the window's control menu to ascertain this. If it is not remaining maximized, then my guess is that Windows itself is restoring it in order to maintain the visibility of all relevant windows so that the user is made aware of the status of all windows they may wish to know about. For example, when email is received, the user would want the notification area to alert them, and this is flashed in this instance. If this is the case, then, apart from using a utility of some kind to maximize windows, there's not much that can be done.

Yes, I'm using windows 10. Here's what I don't understand, when I reply to my first message after opening WLM, the message is maximized. After sending the message, the next message I reply to, the message is no nlonger maximized. I have to maximize it before I can start typing and have the arrow keys and backspace keys speak. -----Original Message----- From: net bat Sent: Thursday, June 23, 2016 11:35 AM To: Russ Kiehne Subject: Re: Strange problen with we and windows live mail? are you useing windows 10? someone on blindtech is having the same problem with nvda and wlm on windows 10. i am useing windows 7 without this problem. -----Original Message----- From: Russ Kiehne Sent: Thursday, June 23, 2016 7:04 AM To: net bat ; Window-Eyes Discussion List Subject: Re: Strange problen with we and windows live mail? Thanks to you, I just figured out what the problem is while composing a message. I just pressed alt space bar to open the restore menu and maximized the window and it works. -----Original Message----- From: net bat via Talk Sent: Wednesday, June 22, 2016 10:32 PM To: michaels mail ; Window-Eyes Discussion List Subject: Re: Strange problen with we and windows live mail? i don't think you are talking about the same thing. when i have wlm and firefox or i e running at the same time and alt tab between them many times there is no w e focus on the main screen. but if i press alt space bar to open the restore menu, press enter to restore, alt tab away and back again to maximize the screen focus will come back. without haveing to reload w e. -----Original Message----- From: michaels mail via Talk Sent: Wednesday, June 22, 2016 10:03 PM To: Russ Kiehne ; Window-Eyes Discussion List Subject: Re: Strange problen with we and windows live mail? Hi Russ, Okay, in that case, when you open the second message, open the WE control panel and check if the same set file is associated as had been for the window when the first message was open. I'm trying to figure out if, somehow, either the message windows are different or WE is not picking up the correct set file. Usually, even simply opening the WE control panel can jog WE to open the correct set file. If not, then perhaps the set file associated with the first message window needs to be manually associated to the second message window. Hi Russ, How precisely do you open up the second or next message? Do you delete the current and then the second opens automatically? Try exiting back to the message list and then open another and see if the problem occurs. Well, I use Outlook, and it exhibits very similar behavior. The cure, for me at least, is just to alt-tab away from the message I'm working on and alt-tab back, and the problem is gone. Annoying, but easily fixed. Try it and see if it works for you. Here's the problem I now have with windows live mail on this new computer. When replying to my first message after starting we, it works as it should. Here is where the problem starts. When I go to reply to my second message, I can't use the arrow keys to review what I typed. The back space won't speak when I back space. When I check to see what set file is loaded, It's wineyes.set. On the first message, It's WindowsLiveMail.set. _______________________________________________ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
