Don,
Here is a knowledge base article that explains the F8 text selection for Browse 
Mode: www.gwmicro.com/kb2064. There is a link in the article to an MP3 audio 
demonstration of using this functionality. If you are not in Browse Mode, use 
the traditional text selection techniques that use Shift and cursor keys (e.g. 
Up Arrow, Down Arrow, Left Arrow, Right Arrow, Home, End, etc.).

Could somebody clarify for me the difference between shiftand arrows keys
selecting text and f8 at the beginning of text and f8 at the end of text you
want selected:

 

It seems both work but in different situations

 

Also, I note that not always f8 at beginning of text and  f8 again will
select the text from beginning to end..
