Ain't this simply just too funny.
Go pay a thousand dollars for a screen reader, and then you have to use
a freeware one to get things installed. No, guys, this time I am not
here to complain, simply just think it to be a smiler.
One thing the makers of the paid-for screen readers now aday may want to
consider, is if it would not have been an idea to have a somehow light
version of the screen reader, that would kick in when installing things.
Let us have all the jingles and bells, when we need it, but let us have
a screen reader that helps us out when all we need is speech.
To tell the user to go and get another screen reader, so as to have
their paid-for product up running; well, to a less trained new user, may
seem not just strange, but directly get them worried.
Just thought to throw the idea on the board, even if we have had it
there before. But relying on the amount of messages seen on the list the
last few days, in this regard, tells me something might be wanted to be
a bit more smooth running in the future. BTW, has NVDA been translated
into all the languages supported by Jaws and Window-Eyes? Or, would we
end up with a user in a foreign language, having to pay for his screen
reader in his language, but use a non-translated version of NVDA for his
installation tweaking? That at least, from many years of training
non-English users, I could say would throw a multitude off the wagon.

you need to uninstall window-eyes and jfw and then go to the control
panel in device manager making sure both the freedom scientific display
driver and the window-eyes driver are removed. Using NVDA, you can then
install the update. I tried a lot of contortions before I got it to work.

Hi folks
I'm still not having any luck installing the Windows 10 anniversary update.
the win 10 upgrade assistant reports that my display isn't compadible, but i'm
running Windows 10 already and from what i'm told by sighted folks, it looks
just exactly as it should. i even went so far as to check to see if the ati
display adapter had any updates, which it doesn't. I'm just confused, and
don't know what to do to get this to work. i know others are experiencing the
same thing, so i'm hoping someone can find an answer soon. If anyone has any
ideas, let me know what I can do.
Thanks!
