Hi Barbara, This is an intermittent issue that I have seen from time to time in both Internet Explorer and Firefox. Assuming you are using a fully updated version of Internet Explorer 11 without any additional toolbars or extensions installed, I don't think there is anything you can do to prevent the problem as it seems to occur randomly without much of a pattern. Your best course of action is to try and recover from the issue as quickly as possible. The troubleshooting steps your listed are spot on. First, try to toggle Browse Mode to see if it comes back. If not, try refreshing the web page. If that fails, closing and reopening the browser is logical next step. If that doesn't do the trick, relaunching Window-Eyes or restarting the PC is recommended. I am curious to know if those using newer versions of Windows are experiencing this problem more or less than people using Windows 7. Best, Marc
