Don,
To add to Rick's post, you can open the Settings window directly with
Windows+I. Where we come in has changed with the Windows 10 anniversary
update. We used to come in to the list view. Now we come in on the
search box. Shift-Tab once to go up to the list view and arrow left/right.
Regarding services?
The quickest way to run it is Windows+R to open the Run dialog and enter
Services.msc.
With the service focused open the context menu with the Application key
and then press R for properties.
Automatic: The service is loaded at start up.
Some are delayed to improve boot time because they're not needed
immediately.
Manual: The service is not automatically loaded.
This gets a little tricky because some services can be set to manual,
loaded when needed and then unloaded. But other services cannot work
this way. So you have to research them. And there are some it's almost
impossible to tell if you need them or not because it depends on what
you do, how your internet service provider works, etc. But there are
sites that try to explain them and give various configurations and rough
explanations.
There's also a Disable option. This is fine if you're absolutely sure
you don't use the service.
And finally, all of this can be tricky because there are also
dependencies. So a service may seem like something you don't need or use
but it may be required for something you do, and vice versa.
So proceed with caution and make a list of the changes you made. this
way if things don't work properly, which you may not run into for a
while because you don't use a particular service or combination
frequently enough, you'll be able to go back in, check dependencies, see
if you can figure out what's related to your problem, etc.
As is obvious by now, it's not a simple process.
Good luck,
Tom

Hi Folks:
Two questions re privacy and services in windows 10
Re privacy, is it as simple as saying the privacy settings are unknown to
other users of windows 10 and micro soft?
Should any of these settings be changed and if so, how?
Re services:
You can tell which is running, which are manual and which is automatic. It
seems to me that is some of these stttings are not needed or wanted could be
stopped.
However, not sure what is meant by manual and automatic. Is manual running
anddo you or can you change to automatic?
Are the choices toggle on and off?
Last, how do you change them, just hit enter or is it a space bar?
Thanks
Don
