Pam,
I solved the problem of WLM losing focus every time an email comes in.
I set the parameter for WLM to check the internet for new email to about
4-hours.
Now when I want to check to see if there is any new email, I do an F5.
It sure is nice to not have WE lose focus right in the middle of writing an
email, or writing a letter in Word.

alt control W will unload and reload wineyes. Hitting this combo once

Bob,
I haven't looked at WLM in a few years, so I'm going from memory. From
the inbox, press Alt-F, T to open the WLM options. Next, go to the
Mail tab, and look for an option that says something to the effect of,
"show an envelope icon when new mail arrives." Uncheck it, hit Enter
to accept the change, and you should be all set.
If that doesn't work or you can't locate the option, I recommend
pingging the Microsoft Disability Answer Desk for help. They can be
reached at (800) 936-5900.

Disabling the option to have new mail notifications appear in the system
tray in WLM itself should fix this.
