Well, Rick, why should a manufacturer or an app developer be held to any
standard, whether high or low, with respect to accessibility when the
government itself does not honor the law it has crafted? Can you explain to
me why, despite the ADA, the U.S. dollar bill remains largely inaccessible
to the blind? Why do you and I need to use some useless extra gadget in
order to READ the dollar bill when other sighted folks don't have to do the
same?

It's so easy to blame or point accusing fingers at app developers and
manufacturers; let's not be complacent, our government is equally guilty
when it comes to accessibility issues. Do our court provide materials in an
accessible format even when requested? Has IRS ever sent you information in
an accessible format such as Braille or audio at your request? If you hold
a travel passport, is your passport number ever printed in both Braille and
print?

I can go on citing examples of government stupidity, but I'm sure you
already get the point. If government obeys the laws it makes, other
entities will do their best possible to stay compliant. I can cite other
examples, but I'll wait till someone attempts to answer the questions raised
herein.

Sincerely,
Olusegun
Denver, Colorado
