Hello, the part about jaws not reading message headers in Thunderbird if you are not in threaded view seems to be something recent. I don't know if it is a jaws bug or if it is something which recently changed in Thunderbird 52. So for now changing it to thread view is the only way I have found. I understand you don't like to read messages in a thread. I don't either for all mailboxes so I understand the frustration. In the meantime however, if you are in a message list and you set it for threads, press the star key, which is shift number eight and it will expand all the threads allowing you to see each message individually.
