Ah yes: but are all these blind people suited to employment.

VFO has blind people on staff, and like any business - it can only employ a
finite number of people

GW Micro employed blind people. I remember the flair brought to training by
the late Clarence Wayley. (apologise if last name is not correct) and we had
frequent input from Jeremy.

The real requirement in this industry is the right people with the right
skills. I am sure that VFO believes that its staff are the right people with
the right skills.

Based solely on the moaning I've seen of late, some of you moaners would not be
the right people with the right skills. But - perhaps yo deserve a chance.
So: cold call; submit proposals; maybe get out and enjoy life.

Vaughan.

You don't learn by reading manuals you learn by practicing. If I have a problem
with Verizon I can call them 24/7, granted they know nothing about screen
readers. There are plenty of blind people out there who are not working who
could be hired by these screen readers and work from home helping when you
call for tech support. If vfo gave 24/7 tech support and you had pay to get it
I would be willing to get it

Richard you already say you have no time to read books or listen to tutorials
Where will you have time for one on one training that you will be paying for?
If you got it for free how many hours do you think your entitled to?

Richard,

Let's move away from the screen reader aspect here slightly.

What you are really asking for is for some hands on training on a new purchase
to be provided as part of the purchase price. It certainly cannot be provided
at any cost to the company employing the trainer.

Would you, in fact, be prepared to pay the enhanced rate?
Remember, some might not.
In which case there would need to be a two, or more, tiered pricing structure.

In the final analysis you should remember that there is no such thing as a free
lunch; it is paid for by somebody.

Regards, John

you used to work for we I feel as a blind person that tech support in these
companies should give hands on training for free not just say read a manual or
listen to tutorials. that doesn't work for me. I learn better with hands on. I
work all day and certainly do not have the time to read manuals or listen to
tutorials. If I switch to jaws I have sma's from we that will be switched over
if I get another screen reader I would have to pay money. is there a list of
screen reader companies in the us?At 03:06 PM 5/16/2017, you wrote:
