If the key is insert-page down, then I never have anything in the status
line except for the file explorer. I am used to having a status line in
Thunderbird that tells me how many messages there, how many are not read
and in some cases, how many have been deleted. I have tried using both
the insert-page down on the number pad and the ones on the six-pack. It
says absolutely nothing. Oh yes, somethimes, when I am on the desktop,
it will tell me either the date or the time, depending on what mood it
is in, grin. Thanks for any suggestions.

Is there a JAWS equivalent for reading the status line in a window in MS Word
or other programs? Reading the top or bottom line doesn’t give enough
information. If one can’t identify the cursor position, using MS Word is almost
impossible.
