which version of windows?
for windows 7 you can use alt tab to switch from the jaws screen to the desktop
or find the jaws option to run it from the system tray.
another option in jaws settings is to turn on focus. this will tell you when jaws has lost focus in your programs. for me it says lost focus every time i close wlm and i have to alt tab to bring focus back to the desktop. or mouse click the desktop.

Subject: Jaws and desktop

Hi,
Just authorized the latest copy of Jaws and very much a learner.

When exiting a programme, say Thundrbird, or exiting a drive for the
Desktop, ,after pressing alt F4 Jaws goes quiet. The pressing of Windows
d once or twice is required to place focus back on the Desktop.

Is this annoying behaviour normal for Jaws or do I need to change some
setting somewhere? If so, which setting and where?

Thanks
Neville.
