Hi: That clanging sound can be disabled in Windows sounds.
Press the Windows key and type “system sounds” in the search box. One of the results you get will be “system sounds”. Press Enter on that one and you can then explore which sounds are used for which programs. There will be a category of sounds for Window-eyes. Under that, you should be able to find it. There is a really loud and obnoxious clang sound which occurs when one opens a message in Outlook which is in table format as well as when you receive alerts in a browser.
